Art of Nature

On a very warm day with a mixture of pollen and yellow sand, I went to “Sotomo” in Obama City, Fukui Prefecture.
The city is located about 80km in a straight line from Kyoto and faces the Sea of Japan.
It’s a good distance for a short day trip.
“Sotomo” is a national scenic spot where you can find strange rock formations and caves formed by the waves eroding the granite. You can enjoy the tour on a pleasure boat for about an hour.
For the past few days, my eyes have been itchy and I can’t stop sneezing and having a runny nose….
This tragedy occurred long ago when the trees in the mountains were cut down and then planted with fast-growing cedar trees.

The art created by nature over thousands, even tens of thousands of years, is otherworldly in its scale and originality.
The title of this blog is “Nature” and “Bizen”.
I believe there is much we can learn from the wonderful art that nature creates, because I believe that it is filled with elements that can inspire the artwork we create.
