Japan

The other day, we went to Izumo Taisha Shrine. It is 350km by car northwest of Kyoto.
There are many shrines in Japan, but this is one of the most famous.
Along the way, we drive along the highway, looking at a beautiful mountain called Mt. Daisen.
We were lucky to see cherry blossoms blooming everywhere we went.
Matsue and Izumo are areas with extremely mysterious topography. It is believed that there were large crustal movements and large eruptions in ancient times. Almost all regions in the Japanese archipelago have undergone similar processes to reach their current state, and this is also an area with large shrines and famous myths, so I believe it is a region with a strong religious faith that worships nature. After doing some research like that, I set off from Kyoto.
After passing Mt. Daisen, we got off the highway and headed from Yonago to Miho Shrine.
We were able to see a beautiful view of Mt. Daisen, which we had just passed, from the other side of the sea.
Located at the end of the cape, this shrine is famous for granting bountiful harvests and prosperous business.
The shrine’s lion statues were made of Bizen ware.

We arrived just as the ceremony was taking place. Many people from the local area gathered at the shrine to pray for a good harvest and a good catch. We were able to see some beautiful sights in this small town that still retains the charm of Japan. It felt like a town filled with things that need to be passed down and protected.

We follow the coastline to Izumo Taisha Shrine, where we have to hurry to catch the sunset.
The shape of the trees indicates that this is a windy area. The next day was very windy, so most of the cherry blossoms may have fallen. We managed to make it just in time before the sun went down. Every minute was crucial…..

We will continue to update at a later date.
