Izumo taisha
Taisha means a big shrine. We went to give thanks. The previous day was calm and sunny, but on this day there was a strong wind. Nowadays, he is revered by people as the god of “enmusubi” (bonds), but this “en” (bonds) is not just between men and women; it is a precious bond that allows all living things to flourish together in abundance.
It is famous for having the largest Shimenawa in Japan. It means that this is a sacred place.
This area is also famous for soba noodles, so we went to try some.
The sea is beautiful, but the strong wind makes me feel like I’m going to be blown away.
