It’s truly a maple festival

It goes without saying that nature is truly amazing. Every year, just when we feel we’ve had enough, it appears again in all its beauty and fascinates us.
So I want to capture that moment, because in a few seconds these leaves might have fallen. Everything happens in a series of moments and we need to be grateful. I am very grateful to have a maple tree in my small garden that I can cut myself and add to my artwork. It has been five years since I came to Kyoto, and I am extremely grateful for the luxury I have had. Needless to say, being able to cut branches from my small garden and add them to artwork is a real luxury, something that would be unthinkable in Tokyo. Maple leaves quickly lose their luster, so perhaps it’s just a series of moments. Our lives may be the same, but nature teaches us this every year because we tend to forget.
