This piece, like the triangular flower vases found in famous works of old Bizen ware, has a very dynamic form, and its front is carefully calculated and determined. If you look closely at the very bottom of the thin lines made by the spatula, you’ll notice that the angle at which the cross-section stands out is the front, and the overall sense of dynamism and the firing process are perfectly aligned. This artwork is usually displayed in a glass, illuminated case. When a small light source illuminates the piece from the upper right, it takes on a very nice atmosphere. This is because the form and firing process align perfectly, and the illusion-like effect becomes clearly visible. However, capturing its appearance using natural light is extremely difficult. While this is due to my shooting environment, it would be possible if I could photograph it in a location with strong light from the right and weaker light from the left. This photo lacks sufficient light from the right side, but it captures the front of the artwork. The color of the sesame seeds in the upper right corner needs to be captured more clearly.
The Goma&Sangiri&Hidasuki, —all these features are characteristic of Bizen ware, making this a modern masterpiece.
This chaire is a design that is very characteristic of Abe sensei.
