Ideal expression of Clay (soil)
The Momoyama period was the second half of the 16th century. This is a time when Japanese pottery was considered to have reached its peak.
In order to capture the ideal expression of fired Bizen clay, I took the photos under slightly different conditions. The location and time of day were the same, but the amount of clouds was slightly different.
Just a little bit of lighting can make the colors look so different.

The reddish brown color and the texture of the fired surface are truly wonderful. Although the design looks simple, there is a lot to learn from the rise from the base to the body and the roundness.
A twisted personality with a mouth and ears that emphasizes uniqueness. Just like me : )
Those who are not interested will never understand this, but for those who are, it is a very appealing texture.

In different locations and in different light, it took on a completely different look and appearance.
