Bizen ware is pottery from Okayama Prefecture.
It has been fired in some regions since ancient times. Inbe is currently its center.
Recently, it seems that pitcher Yamamoto of the Los Angeles Dodgers is from Ibe, and I believe the town is very happy about this.
The main production areas for Bizen ware are Kumayama to the north of Inbe and Osafune to the south of Inbe. Osafune is also famous for Japanese swords. To the south of that is Ushimado. Okayama Prefecture is also famous for its Muscat grapes and oysters. It’s a truly excellent and delicious Muscat.
Because this plate is huge, the Muscat looks small, but in reality it is large and impressive.
It’s my favorite.
