Kyoto Style | INISHIE
A work from over 200 years ago
“INISHIE” means “a long time ago” in Japanese. While various styles are in fashion, works that have been passed down since ancient times have universal value.
First of all, we must be grateful that items made by people 200 years ago have been passed down to the present day in such good condition. I don’t know how many disasters and crises they have overcome, but I feel joy in being able to experience them firsthand. I think there is a lot to learn from these works. In particular, potters aiming to create “tea pottery” can learn a lot from ancient pieces.
By experiencing these things, I will be able to learn a lot. And being able to introduce them to you all is a new endeavor for “Kyoto Style.”
We will do our best to make you happy.
Thank you.
Best regards,
Taijiro ITO
