Among the currently active potters of Bizen and Shigaraki, Aika san is one of the few who pursues the atmosphere of ancient pottery. He has a strong desire to pursue his dreams and creates pottery without much thought for profitability. I like this type of potter and want to support him. And he provides us with very good quality paulownia wood boxes. His profits are reduced, but that is part of his character.
It’s midsummer now, and there aren’t many good flowers on sale. In autumn, I’d like to decorate with autumn leaves and fruit from the branches, and in winter with camellias. Kyoto has finally returned from the crazy heat to normal summer heat.
