It was unusually hot, so we rented a car and headed out to a clear stream in northern Kyoto.
(Due to the humidity, the perceived temperature is 45 degrees.)
I cooled off by putting my hands and feet in the stream. There were many different kinds of rocks, and I had a good time just looking for them.
The rocks, which were sharp at first, become rounded and beautiful as they flow.
I wondered if life is the same, as I lay on the boulder and gazed at the clouds.
We humans too need to stop clashing with each other and become more rounded and peaceful.
Each has its own individuality and beauty, and no two are alike. We should respect our differences.

The scenery of Shigaraki and Iga reminds me of the mountain streams.
This work imitates the famous “Karatachi” from the Momoyama period.
